We need to keep our lives pure and holy as we worship God. Holiness is the sprint leader and champion of revival. For the Bible says, without holiness, no man can see God. Pure holiness comes only when Holy God’s presence come.

Worshipping  God in  Purity

Only God the creator is worthy of worship .Worship ought to venerate God .Veneration is the kind of honor that cannot be given to anyone else.

1. Worship God the creator, not created objects

Psalm 139:14 - I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

The first quality of God is ‘He is the creator ‘.Only he is worthy of worship.

Psalm 96:5 - For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

God is not someone whom we have created but God is our creator and have created the universe.

Psalms 96:4 - For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

You must fear the Lord Almighty before every other power. Other fears need to be rebuked and casted out of the heart.

Psalm 135:5  For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

God hates idols because nothing can express God completely.

Psalm 115:4 - Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

Psalm 81:9 - There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

Psalm 78:58 - For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

Israelites made idols because of their relationships with foreign women and men who were idol worshippers. Idols increased in Israel and God had to curse them.

2. We worship God, who is our judge

Psalm 82:1 - God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Egyptians used to worship grasshoppers, frogs, locusts, River Nile. The plagues that the Lord sent in Egypt were a curse to the Egyptians. Egyptians found that the gods that they worshipped were destroying them.

Psalms 96:13 - Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

God will be the final judge on the judgment day. He will not only judge humans, He will also judge the gods, spirits who have robbed Him of His worship.

Natural evil consequences of idol worship

1. Their sorrows will be multiplied

Psalms 16:4 - Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

2. The wrong characters of the idol gets attached to us

Psalms 106:36 - And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

Worshipping God with tithes and offerings – Part of Worship in Purity

Proverbs 3:9, 10- Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

You need to make sure you worship God not just with your lips but with your talent, time and treasure.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So, when God loved, He gave.

Attitudes of a true worshipper of the creator God

1.      A worshipper does not want wealth without hard work and smart work.

2.      A worshipped wants pleasure but only through conscience and not through the violation of his conscience

3.      A worshipper wants knowledge but not the knowledge that defies character. He does not want to know anything that affects his moral character.

4.      A worshipper performs his work (politics, administration) with principles

5.      A worshipper comes to the presence of God with a sacrifice.

Rewards of purity and purity in worship

Psalms 19:11 - Moreover by them (the word of God) is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Psalms 58:11 - So that a man shall say, verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Psalms 34:5 - They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed

  • When you look to God , He will honor your life:
  • When you look to God , He will give you victory.
  • When you look to God , He will change your future.
