Rev. Vardharajan 13th February 2011 Our God was the same yesterday, is the same today and will be the same tomorrow. He never changes. His character and His love are more dependable than the rising of the sun everyday. When we understand Him better, the more we will stand in awe of Him, the more we will be able to worship in spirit and in truth. - God is good despite evil. He is good in Himself. He is against evil, but He permits it. He does not promote evil. In the Garden of Eden, God was there, and so were other players. If there are problems in your life, ask yourself, who the other players are. When God’s will is done, heaven is on the earth. When God is given rightful place in our lives, there will be heaven on earth. Job 42:2 says none of the purposes of God, can be thawed. It will be fulfilled. It is necessary for us to believe that God is good and He will overcome evil.
- God is love. He is incomparable in love. He creates and then re-creates. Everything around us, including our own tissues, are recreated after a while. Every 3 weeks, our skin is regenerated. Everything that God does, originates out of His love. He is faithful, because He loves us. He selects us, because He loves us. He gave us His amazing Grace, because He loves us. God judges us (to judge is to set things in order), because He loves us. Romans says ‘having given us His only Son, will He not also give us every good thing?’
- God understands faith. He answers faith. There are only 2 ways to approach God – either in faith or in doubt. I’d rather believe that there is a God today and then to find out that He does not exist, than to think that there is no God today and find out later on that He did indeed exist.
Thank God that He draws us to Himself. He is not some mystical power who calls us from afar but just as He did to Thomas, He calls us to draw close, to feel the wounds on His hands and sides and to come to an intimate knowledge of who He is. There is none like Him.
