A computer application is only as robust as its code. Software developers value the source code of an application above everything else. It is the most permanent form of the program. The quality of the source code determines how easy or difficult it is to scale, upgrade or modify the application. Good quality source codes, guarantee that developers will easily be able to update the application. In extreme cases, when the source code is inferior, developers will need to rewrite the code completely. It is the same in our lives too. Sometimes our lives are so mixed-up, confused and tangled, it seems easier to let things be, than trying to fix it. But our Creator knows better. He knows our source code. Read on to find out why you are so special.

The Word of God is resplendent with descriptions of who we are or rather, who we are meant to be. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, we are referred to as the ‘ambassadors of Christ’. Elsewhere we are called ‘kings and priests’, ‘peculiar people’, ‘co-heirs with Christ’, ‘children of the Most High God’, ’heads and not tails’,… the list is long. The underlying fact is that we were not created to be ordinary. And yet, we believers behave as though we are nothing but ordinary people. While others may run away from challenges, we are called to face them and overcome them with His Strength, we are called to rise above our problems on the wings of eagles. The reason we, so often don’t do what we are created to do, is because we don’t understand who we are. We are ready to live ordinary lives, because we have not yet understood what we are made of.

Genesis 1:20 – 26 describes the process of creation. When God made the birds, the animals and plants, He spoke to the earth, sky and waters to bring forth His creation. However when He made man, He spoke to Himself. He is our source, our point of origin. When God created us, we didn’t come from the earth, we came from Him. Our source code came from Him. Hallelujah! We are not bodies with souls, rather we are souls with bodies. God needed a container to contain His creation and He fashioned our earthly container from the earth. 2 Corinthians 4:7 tells us how God poured His heavenly treasure into jars of clay.

So our origin is clear. Moving away from sins that entangle us, our addictions, our habits are now easy, because we are made in His image. Once we let that take root in our thinking, we will behave differently. God tells us in Jeremiah 1:5 that He knew us before we were born, when He formed us in the womb. He knows everything about us, our strengths, our weaknesses, everything. He knows our potential and He strengthens and equips us to become all that He intended for our lives.
